Fantasy Football: Week 3 NFL Recaps

The Vikings and Cowboys finally put a notch in the win column. Micheal Vick tore up the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday afternoon. And the Saints lost a close one at home to the Falcons. Let's take a look at all of the day's action.

Dallas Cowboys at Houston Texans

-Arian Foster ran 17 times for 106 yards and caught 4 passes for 20 yards.

-Andre Johnson played despite his ankle injury and led the Texans in receiving by catching 4 balls for 64 yards.

-Tony Romo played great and he finished the day completing 23 of 30 passes for 284 yards and 2 TD's.

-Miles Austin had a disappointing game, as he only caught 2 passes for 20 yards.

-The Cowboys defense really helped out the team effort. They held the Texans offense to only 13 points, had 4 sacks, a fumble recovery and 2 INT.

-Dez Bryant continues to impress. He had 4 rec. for 50 yards and 1 punt return for 12 yards.

-Roy Williams had a great game. He made 5 catches for 117 yards and 2 TD. This was what Dallas expected when they traded for him.

-Matt Schaub was not completely on his game. He completed 23 of his 32 passes for 241 yards, 1 TD and 2 INT.

Indianapolis Colts at Denver Broncos

-The Colts defense played very well. They held Denver to 13 points and 47 yards rushing. They also had a sack, a fumble recovery and an INT.

-Peyton Manning has another strong outing, completing 27 of 43 passes for 325 yards and 3 TD.

- Kyle Orton had a big effort in a losing cause as the Broncos looked to air it out. He completed 37 of his 57 passes for 476 yard, 1 TD and 1 INT. He also ran twice for 11 yards.

-Newly acquired Laurence Maroney was stuffed on a key 4th and Goal in the second quarter. He finished the day with 12 rushes for 24 yards and 2 rec for 40 yards.

-Brandon Lloyd caught 6 passes for 169 yards, including a long 48 yard TD play.

-Rookie Blair White caught his first career TD for the Colts in the 3rd quarter. For the day, he had 3 rec for 27 yards and a TD.

-Austin Collie had a super performance. He made 12 rec for 171 yards and 2 TD.

Indianapolis Colts- QB Peyton Manning- 27 of 43 for 325 yards, 3 TD
Denver Broncos- WR Brandon Lloyd- 6 rec for 169 yards, 1 TD

New York Jets at Miami Dolphins

-Mark Sanchez continued his strong play to start the season. He completed 15 of 28 passes for 256 yards and 3 TD.

-LaDainian Tomlinson also showed fresh legs. He ran 15 times for 70 yards and a TD. Adding 3 rec for 18 yards.

-Dustin Keller also starred for the Jets. He made 6 rec for 98 yards and 2 TD. Sanchez looks to have a really good connection with Keller.

-Chad Henne tried to keep Miami in this one. He completed 26 of 44 passes for 363 yards, 2 TD and 1 INT.

-Brandon Marshall made his presence felt in this one. He caught 10 passes for 166 yards and a TD. Plus ran the ball twice for 3 yards.

-Braylon Edwards sat out the first quarter but quickly made up for the lost time. On his first catch, he caught a 67-yard TD. For the game, he had 2 rec for 87 yards and a TD.

-Brad Smith continues to show his versatility. He had 3 carries for 41 yards, 1 rec for 11 yards and 4 kick returns for 150 yards.

-Davone Bess made 6 rec for 86 yards and had 1 punt return for 18 yards.

-Ronnie Brown was running the wildcat once again. He attempted a pass, which was incomplete, rushed 11 times for 54 yards and caught 2 passes for -1 yard.

-The Jets defense held Miami to 84 yards rushing. They also had 3 sacks and an INT.

New York Jets- QB Mark Sanchez- 15 of 28 for 256 yards, 3 TD
Miami Dolphins- QB Chad Henne- 26 of 44 for 363 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT

Pittsburgh Steelers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

-Charlie Batch started at QB for the Steelers. He was efficient, completing 12 of 17 for 186 yards, 3 TD and 2 INT. He also ran 5 times for 26 yards.

-Mike Wallace had a great day. He caught 3 rec for 100 yards and 2 TD. He also ran once for -1 yard.

-The Steelers defense was dominant once again. They held Tampa to 13 points and 75 yards rushing. They also had 4 sacks, a fumble recovery and an INT-return TD.

Pittsburgh Steelers- QB Charlie Batch- 12 of 17 for 186 yards, 3 TD, 2 INT, 5 carries for 26 yards
Tampa Bay Buccaneers- RB LeGarrette Blount- 6 carries for 27 yards, 1 TD

 Tennessee Titans at New York Giants

-The Titans defense held New York to 10 points and 110 yards passing. They also had 2 sacks, a safety, a fumble recovery and 2 INT.

-Eli Manning had a decent day. He completed 34 of 48 for 386 yards but also had 2 INT. He ran once for 2 yards.

-Ahmad Bradshaw was clearly the number one back. He ran the ball 15 times for 88 yards and a TD. He added 5 rec for 30 yards. His red zone fumble was costly.

-Vince Young managed the game well. He completed 10 of 16 passes for 118 yards and 1 TD. He also ran 3 times for 6 yards.

-Chris Johnson had another 100-yard game. He had 32 carries for 125 yards and 2 TD.

New York Giants- RB Ahmad Bradshaw- 15 carries for 88 yards, 1 rush TD, 5 rec for 30 yards

Philadelphia Eagles at Jacksonville Jaguars

-Michael Vick showed why he has the starting job. He completed 17 of 31 for 291 yards and 3 TD. Added to that, he carried the ball 4 times for 30 yards and a TD.

-Jeremy Maclin caught 4 rec for 83 yards and 2 TD.

-The Eagles defense was dominant. They held the Jaguars to 3 points, 54 passing yards and 184 total yards. They also had 6 sacks and an INT.

-DeSean Jackson also lit things up. He had 5 rec for 153 yards and a TD. He also had 1 carry for 8 yards.

Philadelphia Eagles- QB Michael Vick- 17 of 31 for 291 yards, 3 TD, 4 carries for 30 yards, 1 rush TD
Jacksonville Jaguars- RB Maurice Jones-Drew- 22 carries for 88 yards, 2 rec for 1 yard

Washington Redskins at St. Louis Rams

-Steven Jackson had a good game. He had 10 carries for 58 yards and a TD. Plus 1 rec for 6 yards.

-The rookie Sam Bradford continues to show nice development. He completed 23 of 37 for 235 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT. He also ran once for 2 yards.

-The veteran Donovan McNabb tried to keep the Skins in it. He completed 19 of 32 for 236 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT. He added 2 carries for 25 yards.

-Kenneth Darby filled in for Jackson, following a groin strain. He had 14 carries for 49 yards and a TD. He also had 1 rec for 8 yards.

-The Rams defense held Washington to 16 points. They also had a sack, a fumble recovery and an INT.

Washington Redskins- WR Santana Moss- 6 rec for 124 yards, 1 TD
St. Louis Rams- RB Steven Jackson- 10 carries for 58 yards, 1 TD, 1 rec for 6 yards

San Francisco 49ers at Kansas City Chiefs

-Matt Cassel had a great day for the Chiefs. He completed 16 of 27 for 250 yards, 3 TD and 1 INT. He also had 2 carries for 7 yards.

-Dwayne Bowe made 2 rec for 61 yards and a TD.

-Tony Moeaki had a spectacular one handed TD catch in the 3rd quarter. He finished with 4 rec for 44 yards and 1 TD.

San Francisco 49ers- QB Alex Smith- 23 of 42 for 232 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT
Kansas City Chiefs- QB Matt Cassel- 16 of 27 for 250 yards, 3 TD, 1 INT

San Diego Chargers at Seattle Seahawks

-Leon Washington was a special teams star. He returned 4 kickoffs for 253 yards and 2 TD.

-Philip Rivers kept the Chargers close throughout. He completed 29 of 53 for 455, 2 TD, 2 INT. He also had a 2-yard carry.

-Malcom Floyd had a nice game. He made 6 rec for 97 yards and 1 TD.

-The Seahawks defense came up big. They held San Diego to 89 yards rushing. They also had 4 sacks, 3 fumble recoveries and 2 INT.

-Antonio Gates continued his scoring streak. He finished the game with 7 rec for 109 yards and 1 TD.

-Legedu Naanee was a part of the game plan. He caught 4 rec for 53 yards and a 2-point conversion. He also had 2 carried for -2 yards.

-Buster Davis got in on the action for San Diego. He had 3 rec for 82 yards.

Cincinnati Bengals at Carolina Panthers

-The Bengals defense held Carolina to 7 points, 87 yards rushing and 180 yards passing. They also had a sack, 3 fumble recoveries and an INT.

-The Panthers defense tried to keep Carolina in this one. They held the Bengals to 185 yards passing. They added to that a sack and 2 INT.

-Cedric Benson was the player of the game. He had 27 carries for 81 yards and 1 TD. Added to that, he made 2 rec for 9 yards and a TD.

Detroit Lions at Minnesota Vikings

-The Lions defense played pretty good in this one. They held the Vikings to 185 yards passing. They also had 2 sacks, a fumble recovery and 2 INT.

-The Vikings defense played their part in a Viking victory. They held Detroit to 10 points and 63 yards rushing. They added to that a sack, a fumble recovery and 2 INT.

-Brett Favre was okay in the win. He completed 23 of 34 for 201 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT

-Adrian Peterson showed why he is one of the best (if not the BEST) running back. His day consisted of, 23 carries for 160 yards, 2 TD and 5 rec for 30 yards.

Oakland Raiders at Arizona Cardinals

-Darren McFadden continued his strong start to the season. He had 25 carries for 105 yards and 1 TD. He added 2 rec for 17 yards.

-Derek Anderson got Arizona the win. He completed 12 of 26 for 122 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT

-Sebastian Janikowski had two field goal chances to win the game and missed both. For the day he had 2 XP, was 3 of 6 on FG and had 11 points.

-Bruce Gradkowski almost led the Raiders to a win. He completed 17 of 34 for 255 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT. He also had 4 carries for 13 yards.

Oakland Raiders- RB Darren McFadden- 25 carries for 105 yards, 1 TD, 2 rec for 17 yards
Arizona Cardinals- QB Derek Anderson- 12 of 26 for 122 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT

Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots

-Tom Brady was very efficient. He completed 21 of 27 for 252 yards and 3 TD. He also ran 4 times for 6 yards.

-Randy Moss made the most of his catches. He made 2 rec for 42 yards and 2 TD.

-The Bills defense gave up a lot of points but they did have a sack and a fumble recovery.

-C.J. Spiller showed off his versatility. He had 4 carries for 29 yards and 3 rec for 10 yards and a rec TD. Plus, 5 kickoff returns for 189 yards and a TD.

-Ryan Fitzpatrick got the start in this one and seemed to spark the Bills. He completed 20 of 28 for 247 yards, 2 TD and 2 INT. He added 3 carries for 18 yards.

-Rookie TE Rob Gronkowski had 3 rec for 43 yards and a TD.

-Newly acquired Danny Woodhead rewarded the Pats picking him up. He had 3 carried for 42 yards and a TD.

-Wes Welker got in on the action. He had 4 rec for 45 yards.

-The Patriots defense played just well enough to win. They had a sack and 2 INT.

-BenJarvus Green-Ellis sealed the win with a TD run. He finished the day with 16 carries for 98 yards, 1 TD and 1 rec for 6 yards.

-Steve Johnson had 3 rec for 66 yards and a TD.

Buffalo Bills- QB Ryan Fitzpatrick- 20 of 28 for 247 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT, 3 carries for 18 yards
New England Patriots- QB Tom Brady- 21 of 27 for 252 yards, 3 TD, 4 carries for 6 yards

Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens

-Ray Rice had 15 carries for 80 yards and 4 rec for 16 yards.

-Joe Flacco had a great game. He completed 22 of 31 passes for 262 yards and 3 TD. He also had 4 carries for -4 yards.

-Anquan Boldin was a beast. He made 8 rec for 142 yards and 3 TD. He also completed a pass for -6 yards.

-Peyton Hillis had a nice effort in the loss. He had 22 carries for 144 yards, 1 TD and 7 rec for 36 yards.

-Seneca Wallace almost pulled off the win. He completed 18 of 24 for 141 yards and a TD.

Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints

-Lance Moore had a big day. He had 6 rec for 149 yards and 2 TD. He added to that a 72 yard punt return.

-Matt Ryan performed really well. He completed 19 of 30 for 228 yards, 2 TD and had 6 carries for 26 yards.

-The Falcons defense played really well against the Saints high powered offense. They held them to 43 yards rushing. They also had 2 sacks, a fumble recovery and 2 INT.

-Drew Brees did everything he could to win this game. He completed 30 of 38 for 365 yards, 3 TD and 2 INT.

-Roddy White caught 5 rec for 69 yards and a TD.

-Tony Gonzalez made some great catches. He finished with 8 rec for 110 yards and a TD.

-Michael Turner had 30 carries for 114 yards and 1 TD. Plus, 2 rec for 11 yards.

-The Saints defense played okay. They had 2 sacks and a fumble recovery.

-Jeremy Shockey had a solid day, making 8 rec for 78 yards and a TD.

-Garrett Hartley sent the game to overtime on a FG but missed the game winner in OT. It was his third miss of the season. He finished the game with 3 XP, 1 of 2 FG and 6 points. His job might be pretty shaky right now.

-Devery Henderson had a slow day, catching 2 rec for 23 yards.

-Jason Snelling had 14 carries for 62 yards and 1 rec for 8 yards.

-Matt Bryant kicked the game winning FG in OT. For the game, he was perfect, kicking 3 XP and 2 FG, totalling 9 points.

Atlanta Falcons- QB Matt Ryan- 19 of 30 for 228 yards, 2 TD, 6 carries for 26 yards
New Orleans Saints- QB Drew Brees- 30 of 38 for 365 yards, 3 TD, 2 INT

Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears

-Aaron Rodgers did everything he could to win this game because of a non-existent running game. He completed 34 of 45 for 316 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT. He also had 2 carries for 20 yards and a TD.

-Jay Cutler performed alright. He completed 16 of 27 for 221 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT. He had 3 carries for 37 yards and was Chicago's leading rusher.

-Devin Hester showed why he is so electric. He returned 3 punts for 93 yards and a TD. The punt return TD was 62 yards long. He only had 1 rec for 16 yards.

-The Bears defense held the high scoring offense of Green Bay to 17 points and 63 yards rushing. They also had 1 fumble recovery and 1 INT.

-Robbie Gould kicked the game winning FG with only 4 seconds left. He ended the game with 2 XP, 2 of 3 FG and 8 points. His missed FG was from 49 yards.
